A couple of weeks ago Tracy Garley (my fellow Spartan and Owner of Zarkpa’s Boutique) approached me about collaborating on a few events during my next trip home to Detroit. I will admit that I was a little nervous being that I have been predominantly based in Los Angeles for the past 3.5 years, in addition to the fact that I had only done one on one classes with clients and close friends! BUT, when a door opens I believe you should walk in swinging, giving it your all! So without further ado, I’m excited to announce that I will be hosting my very first makeup class in Detroit, MI on Sunday, November 16th, 2014 at Zarkpa’s Boutique! Ahhhhhh! 🙂 Continue reading ““Up The Ante” Makeup Transformation Demo Class – Detroit”→
For the past few years perfectly sculpted eyebrows have been one of the biggest beauty trends on the streets and runway. So of course it comes with a trendy catchphrase that’s now applicable to not only your brows, but anything beauty/fashion related that appears to be “on point”! Yup, that’s right – Anything bomb or cool is considered ON FLEEK!
Being that it’s my guilty pleasure expression in life and beauty, I decided to put it on a shirt for anyone that loves the saying as much as I do… Click here and get your #ONFLEEK t-shirt now! 😛
Makeup genius Francesca Tolot just created one of the most exciting art books all makeup lovers need to own by year-end. She collaborated with photographer Alberto Tolot to create 100 transformations on only one model, Mitzi Martin, in One Woman 100 Faces ($35, amazon.com).
If you aren’t excited yet, need I remind you that Francesca has worked with literally all of the top celebs in the industry, including Beyoncé for over 10 years! With that being said, Bey even wrote a foreword for Francesca’s book!
Recently Tolot sat with Harpers Bazaar to talk about her new art book, inspiration, and makeup tricks. Here are a few highlights below:
On Beyoncé writing the foreword:
This was extremely special , I feel very blessed, loved, and appreciated. I still can’t believe she actually did it! Her generosity is beyond. I think the part of her forward that she says, “She is the only artist I trust will bring out a beauty in me I didn’t even know existed,” my thoughts on that statement are that her beauty to me is so multi-faceted and complete that makes it effortless to create anything on her. I love our connection.
This year was my very first NYFW experience and I had the opportunity to do makeup at the HARBISON Presentation, and the ETXEBERRIA Menswear fashion show over the weekend! I feel really honored to be a part of such a renown event and had a nice time doing what I love while meeting other great artists in the area. For photos and additional info read more!
A while back I recreated this clean/vampy Khloe Kardashian inspired look that she wore while in Paris for Kim’s wedding. Its super easy, all about the lips and skin (very minimal makeup), and perfect for Fall which is right around the corner. Let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below!
