Do you ever struggle with annoying hair bumps after waxing or shaving? If so, I don’t eveeeeen have to explain how uncomfortable and embarrassing it can be. But what I can do is share a few tips that have helped me prevent hair bumps and the dark marks they tend to leave!
1. Coconut Oil is your friend. After a wax, gently wash the area with warm water and an antibacterial soap (I love the orange Dial soap), rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Once the area is completely dry, gently rub a quarter sized amount of coconut oil to the freshly waxed area. Not only will the coconut oil soothe and moisturize the skin (which helps with preventing darkness), it will also help fight against bacteria. BUT… you also don’t want to apply oils everyday – too much of a good thing can be bad too! I usually only do this on day 1 after waxing and then once a week going forward.
2. 1-2 days after hair removal you will want to start exfoliating daily. I prefer using Bath Gloves as they aren’t as harsh as some loafa’s can be, and they allow you more control/flexibility to reach every nook & cranny lol. You will want to exfoliate every day.
3. If you aren’t opposed to a bleaching agent, try PFB Vanish + Chromabright. What I love about this product is that it rolls right on, and does the job of two different products – treats ingrown hair bumps caused by waxing & shaving, and promotes exfoliation to brighten dark spots (this also prevents hairs from getting trapped under the skin when trying to grow back, causing irritation). Apply it to the desired area 2 – 3 times a week, three days after hair removal.
BEWARE: Overuse of PFB will have you looking like a shedding snake! >.<
